....

There once was a young man,
lived his life, honest but bland
He met this lady by chance,
kind, generous, funny and smart
Couldn't help it this simple son,
he lost to her his only heart,

He knelt before her
and told her how he felt,
He sang his heart out,
he told her all,
He had fallen in love,
this foolish young lad

"Let us make memories of us, memories to save
The joys we shall share and the sorrows we divide
Anything you want, with everything I have,
Please say yes, please be the one by my side"

Wanted to be his, but she couldn't say yes
Moved though she was, she caused him despair
and mumbled out words with a melancholic air .

"You are nice but you are just a cub,
Younger than me by ten years you are,
Can't be together, you and me,
can't be together, can't be a social scar"

Dejected and depressed,
broken dreams made of mud,
lone and tired,
poems of tears n' blood

Watching over the mortal's world
was the guardian angel above
She felt pity for this sad tale of love
She flew down to the boy's rescue
Wanting to fix the things gone askew

"Pious and kind, a humble soul
All alone you are, crying all this while
Son, your heart break makes my heart ache
I grant you a wish so I can see you smile"

He said "All I want is just my love
Please angel, if you would make me older,
I will have at least a chance to win her heart.
Just ten years older, old enough to hold her"

Poof! The angel vanished into thin air,
The young man rubbed his eyes,
Was this a dream or was this the reality?
He ran around to see himself in a mirror,

He did really grow older, but just by a day,
Nothing changed, his fate now doomed.
Not the angel, not her magic,
Seemed to aide his future, oh so tragic!

He had given up now if he had not back then,
his shoulders drooped; no reason, no rhyme
he decided to drift away into far away lands
he longed to see his love one last time

He stepped on her porch and knocked on her door,
only wishing to wish her his final farewell,
his eyes met hers, filled with sorrowful tears,
But surprised he was at the sight that his eyes met,
It was not on him that the angel's charm had worked,
it was on her, for she was now younger by ten years!

She kissed him good and they lived happily ever after.
The heavens echoed with the angel's laughter,
